Tragically, Nigerian actor Junior Pope lost his life in a boating accident on April 10, 2024. In a poignant video shared prior to the incident, he could be seen without a life jacket, expressing his concerns about the speed of the boat as he didn’t want to leave his children behind.

Despite his pleas, the boat capsized, resulting in the loss of five lives, including his own. Responding to this tragedy on X, Dumas condemned the practice of denying essential safety measures on film sets due to budget constraints, considering it a violation of creatives’ rights.
