Nathan Kofi Boakye, Commissioner of Police, has announced his retirement from the Ghana Police Service, effective Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
He was the head of the Legal and Prosecution Division of the Ghana Police Service.
He bids farewell to the police administration today, Wednesday, May 5, 2023, in a ceremony attended by family, friends, and top security officials, including IGP George Akuffo Dampare.
With a better track record and more experience fighting crime in the country, there is no doubt that Kofi Boakye is capable of dealing with the country’s insecurity.
He was the Director General in charge of Research and Planning at the time.
He has a feared public reputation for his heroics in crime fighting while serving as Accra’s police commander.
He was also the former Ashanti Region Commander and is known for upholding law and order. In June 2016, he was promoted to his current position.
He’s known as a “no-nonsense police chief.”
Nathan Kofi Boakye holds a Bsc in Biochemistry from KNUST and is a certified ballistic analyst from the Metropolitan Police Support Services in the United Kingdom.
He also has a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Ghana, Legon.
He holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Administration from Leicester University in the United Kingdom and is a Barrister at Law.
