Patrick Osei-Agyemang, the host of Adom TV’s Fire-for-Fire, is gearing up to spearhead a large-scale protest against the Ghana Football Association (GFA). Scheduled for February 14, Valentine’s Day, the demonstration is a response to the perceived dismal performance of the Kurt Okraku-led administration.

The catalyst for this protest stems from the disappointing exit of the Black Stars from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast. Despite high hopes of ending Ghana’s 42-year trophy drought, the team exited during the group phase with only two points. The Black Stars managed two draws against Egypt and Mozambique but suffered a defeat against Cape Verde in their opening match.
This premature exit marks the team’s second consecutive elimination at the group phase in the history of AFCON. Patrick Osei-Agyemang, an acclaimed broadcaster, attributes the team’s shambolic performance to the GFA’s mismanagement of taxpayer funds without delivering tangible results.

In response to this dissatisfaction, Osei-Agyemang is leading the protest to demand accountability, particularly regarding the budget allocated for AFCON. He criticizes the GFA for spending significant public funds without achieving the desired outcomes.
Meanwhile, Chris Hughton, the head coach of the Black Stars, has been dismissed following the team’s poor showing at the 34th edition of AFCON. The GFA has unveiled a roadmap for the appointment of a new coach in the aftermath of this decision.
