According to fiery sports commentator Countryman Songo, Black Stars captain Andre Ayew was allegedly mistreated by Chris Hughton during the team’s AFCON qualifying match against Angola.
When it came time to choose a coach for the Black Stars, Songo, real name Patrick Osei Agyemang, claimed that the Ghana Football Association asked Ayew for his thoughts on the possible hiring of Chris Hughton and Kwasi Appiah as captains.
According to Songo, the coach decided to rest Ayew for the first leg of the March 23 doubleheader against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium due to Ayew’s opinion on Chris Hughton, which he reportedly shared with the Ghana Football Association’s president.
