After a persistent three-hour heavy rainfall in Ho, the capital of the Volta Region, several parts of the city have been inundated by floodwaters.
The excessive precipitation caused major drainage systems to overflow, worsening the situation. Both commercial and residential areas have been affected by the flooding, compelling some residents to evacuate and salvage their belongings from the fast-moving currents.
Fortunately, the floodwaters have now subsided, and the intensity of the rainfall has decreased. Nonetheless, residents remain concerned about the potential occurrence of a more severe rainstorm and the subsequent threat of further flooding.

Expressing their frustration, one resident remarked, “Today’s rainfall is not the heaviest we have experienced in Ho. Why are the gutters and bridges overflowing? Why are certain areas flooded?”
In the midst of the chaos, other residents could be seen in distress, helpless as their properties were submerged in the floodwaters.
