DopeNation has conveyed their readiness to unveil a fresh music genre named Ghanapiano, where they plan to incorporate sampled beats rooted in African origins. The music duo, comprised of identical twins, indicated that this innovative style would merge traditional African rhythms with modern elements.
In their pursuit of blending classic and contemporary sounds, the Ghanaian musicians openly admitted to utilizing a beat from the renowned music producer Edward Nana Poku Osei, also known as Da’Hammer. The duo mentioned that their recent song, Check My Zingo, incorporates elements of Hammer’s distinctive sound.

Although they acknowledged not having engaged in a prior conversation with Da’Hammer about the sound and admitted to simply taking the sample, they did express their willingness to accept any financial or copyright claims arising from its use.
“If there’s a claim, there will be loyalties that will be given to him. DopeNation added that the use of the beats to formulate a new style of African sound called Ghanapiano.
“It actually started with Gboza; there are elements of Da’Hammers sounds in there. What we are trying to do is we are trying to churn a new sound called Ghanapiano,” they said.
DopeNation, consisting of twin brothers Micheal Boafo (B2) and Tony Boafo (Twist), has gained recognition for producing hit tracks such as Kpuu Kpaa by Shatta Wale, Wow by Joey B ft EL, Sebgefia by Joey B and EL, Poison by Ebony Reigns, Forever by Eazzy ft Mr Eazi, Nana Ama by Pappy Kojo, both for themselves and other artists.

Their introduction to music production came through producer and artist E.L in Accra back in 2012, who nurtured and honed their skills. They have been credited with producing songs for various Ghanaian musicians including E.L, Shatta Wale, Joey B, Pappy Kojo, Eazzy, and others.
They’ve also worked with international artists like Olamide, Tekno, and Fameye. Additionally, as the official producers for Adelaide The Seer, they played a pivotal role in discovering and launching the visually impaired singer into the music industry in 2021. Adelaide The Seer went on to record tracks such as “Wire Me” and “What a God,” among others.
