The Electoral Commission (EC) has declared that the District Level Elections (DLEs) will take place in the Jasikan and Guan Districts of the Oti region. This decision comes following the maturation and approval of the Constitutional Instrument (CI) granting the EC the authority to conduct the elections in these specific districts.

Despite the absence of received nominations for the elections scheduled for December 19, 2023, in the two districts by the November 16 and 17, 2023 deadline for all districts, the EC, in a statement on Monday, outlined that “Nomination Forms may be obtained free of charge at the Jasikan and Guan District Offices of the Electoral Commission or on the Website of the Electoral Commission (www.ec.gov.gh).”

The nomination process necessitates the signatures or marks of the Proposer and the Seconder, supported by 18 other individuals who are residents and registered to vote in the Electoral Area. Applicants are instructed to submit completed forms between December 7 and December 8, 2023, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Furthermore, any inquiries related to the elections should be directed to the District Officers of the Electoral Commission in the Jasikan and Guan Districts.
