Inspire by Hilda Baci’s recent success in shattering the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, Ghanaian artist Efya wants to smash the record for the longest song ever recorded.

The longest cooking marathon by an individual record was broken by Baci, who is popular on social media. The cook beat Lata Tondon’s previous mark of 87 hours and 45 minutes on Monday morning; Tondon is no longer the Guinness World Record holder.

Hilda started the challenge on Thursday at exactly four o’clock in the afternoon by turning on her cooker. Hilda is the first person to ever spend so much time cooking and she cooks for another 96 hours after breaking the previous record.

Buoyed by this, Efya has decided to transition this huge feat in her ear of specialization by envisaging a record that will span long hours.

“If I can break a record, it will be for the longest song. Sometimes you can do the longest song recorded. I don’t have to be on my feet singing continuously. I could sing for a couple of days; I could hold a note for long. These dirges we have in Ghana are an example, we have 15 minutes of such songs. I could sing for 30 hours if I want to break the record. Hilda recorded 100 hours because she was cooking,” she told Abeiku Santana.

The only difficulty, according to the Ghanaian neo-soul artist, is that she might not be able to solicit others to take part in it. Efya is still committed to breaking the record and elevating Ghana through her musical achievement despite this possible obstacle.
