A man was arrested for posing as a doctor in the emergency room within the restricted area of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. This incident was recorded on video and shared on Twitter by blogger Sika Official. The video did not offer any additional information about the fake doctor’s identity or reasons for being at the hospital. This is not the first time such impersonation has occurred at the hospital. In September of this year, a 26-year-old man, William Cyril Cohen, was apprehended for pretending to be a medical professional at the same hospital in Kumasi. He was seen lurking on the hospital premises and was accused of falsely acting as a doctor to admit patients and administer treatments.

On Monday, September 4, 2023, Cohen was caught while attending to a patient in the emergency ward. When confronted by a senior medical officer, the imposter appeared nervous and tried to escape but was apprehended by hospital security. A video circulating on social media shows the suspect wearing a hospital uniform as he is escorted by security personnel and subsequently handed over to the police.
