The Lebanese Embassy in Ghana has clarified reports that incorrectly identified the Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Maher Kheir, as Sunil Waghmare, the Indian Guinness World Record holder. On December 28, 2023, H.E. Mr. Maher Kheir visited Akwaaba Village to support Ghanaian entrepreneur and journalist Afua Asantewaa Aduonum in her record-breaking attempt.

Despite pictures and videos documenting Ambassador Kheir’s presence at the event, some media outlets mistakenly labeled him as Sunil Waghmare. The Embassy released a statement on December 29, 2023, correcting the error and emphasizing Ambassador Kheir’s supportive gesture towards Afua Asantewaa. They commended her dedication and urged Ghanaian media houses to acknowledge the correction.
