A man named Richard Manu, also known as Azonto and aged 25, is accused of decapitating his father, Kwaku Manu, in Assin Akrofuom, located in the Assin South District of the Central Region. Allegedly, the suspect asserts that his father engaged in a spiritual exchange of destinies with his twin brother, leading to the violent attack.

Following the beheading of his father, Richard Manu also inflicted cutlass wounds on his mother and other family members present in the house during the incident. The intervention of the police prevented the enraged residents from lynching the suspect.

Currently, Richard is undergoing treatment at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu, where he is under police guard. The Akyeamehene of Assin Akrofuom, Okyeame Kwame Amankrah, who is the uncle of the suspect, also experienced the repercussions of the attack. He expressed shock, stating that the family has no understanding of what drove his nephew to commit such a heinous crime.
