Beginning Monday, (June 12, 2023) the National Identification Authority (NIA) has extended its premium registration services for the Ghana Card to five regional offices.
The offices are in the Volta, Bono, Bono East, Northern, and Western North regions.
According to a statement dated June 11, 2023, issued by the National Identification Authority (NIA) and signed by Col. Peter Kwame Ghansah (Rtd), the acting Head of Corporate Affairs, additional registration centers will be established alongside the existing Premium Centers at the NIA and CalBank Head Offices in Accra, as well as the regional offices in Ashanti, Eastern, and Western regions. The statement further elaborated on the fee-based services that will be provided at these premium registration centers.

These services include first-time registration and issuance of a Ghana Card for a fee of GH¢280, replacement of lost, missing, or damaged cards for GH¢110, and updates of personal records requiring the printing of a new card for GH¢110. Additionally, the NIA specified that certain update services will also incur a fee. These services include changes or corrections of the applicant’s name, order of name, previous name or maiden name, date of birth, nationality, gender, and height.
The NIA clarified that access to its premium services will be facilitated through an online booking system and a walk-in system. It was also stated that fees for the premium services can be paid through various channels, including the CalBank Mobile Banking Platform using the short code *771#, the CalBank Online Mobile App, and CalBank branches.
