Ningo Prampram’s Member of Parliament (MP), Sam George, has faced criticism on social media for his remarks regarding the accident that resulted in the death of the Second Lady’s security officer. In a social media post, Sam George expressed relief that Samira Bawumia was not in the convoy at the time of the incident.
Thank God the second lady was not in the convoy at the time of the accident.

Interesting coincidence of aides dying in the lead up to elections. May the soul of the young man rest in peace even as we remember Kwabena Boadu.
Please drive carefully as we get into the campaign…
However, he also mentioned an “interesting coincidence of aides dying in the lead-up to elections.”
Prior to the 2016 elections, a special aide of Bawumia, Kwabena Boadu, passed on in his hotel room in Wa while on campaign tour.
This comment has triggered widespread outrage, with many Ghanaians accusing Sam George of politicizing a sensitive issue. Critics condemned him for seemingly using the accident to take a dig at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his associates.

Social media users described the MP’s statement as “below the belt,” emphasizing the need for political discussions to be conducted with sensitivity, particularly when lives are involved. In response to the backlash, Sam George defended his remarks, stating that he is not surprised by the reaction from the “NPP herd.”
“Go and regroup and strategize because I would keep hitting your soft underbelly and reveling in your response” he wrote.
Thank God the second lady was not in the convoy at the time of the accident.
