Alan Kyeremanten, a former prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the leader of the political movement known as the Movement for Change, has criticized the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for issuing a directive to immediately remove materials like flyers and posters related to Alan Kyeremanten from all party offices in the Ashanti Region.
During an appearance on UTV on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Alan Kyeremanten proudly stated that he played a pivotal role in Chairman Wontumi’s political career, as he was the one who introduced him to the NPP and helped him succeed as a politician. He recalled an instance in 2005 when Chairman Wontumi, then an emerging businessman, approached him and offered his support for his political endeavors. As a result, Kyeremanten guided him to become the Constituency Chairman of Bosumtwi and later the Regional Chairman of the Ashanti Region.

“Who brought Wontumi into the party? Wontumi who is making noise all over the place, if he has someone to be grateful to, he has to be grateful to Alan Kyeremanten for his success in NPP politics. I held his hand and brought him into the party. Who is Wontumi?” He quizzed.
Following Alan Kyeremanten’s resignation the previous day, Chairman Wontumi swiftly ordered the removal of all items associated with him from NPP party offices in the Ashanti Region. Alan Kyeremanten expressed his displeasure with this swift decision to erase his presence within the NPP.
