Six including 4 PRESEC-Legon students arrested for staging kidnap

The Police, employing intelligence-driven tactics and investigations, have apprehended six individuals, including four minors who are students at Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) in Legon, Accra, for orchestrating a fake kidnapping scenario.

Among the adults involved are Isaac Kissi Adjei, also known as Kofi Black, and Courage Teiko, known as Timmy.

Initial inquiries indicate that one of the underage individuals, aiming to acquire funds from his parents to facilitate a trip abroad, collaborated with others to fabricate the kidnapping event.

According to the Police statement, during the scheme, they demanded GH₵ 340,000.00 as ransom from the supposed victim’s parents.

Further investigation revealed that the minors, along with the two adults, managed to secure GH₵20,000.00 of the total ransom requested.

Following standard procedure, the identities of the juveniles have been kept confidential, and their parents and guardians have been duly notified, while Police inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
