Rock City Hotel has urged SSNIT to publish all bid documents for public scrutiny to ensure accountability and transparency regarding SSNIT’s decision to sell a 60% stake in four of its hotels.
In a letter dated July 12, 2024, Rock City announced its decision to withdraw the bid and granted SSNIT consent to release “all or whatever parts of our bid documents for public scrutiny or publish same if it should become necessary.”

Rock City’s withdrawal follows Organised Labour’s threat to commence a nationwide strike on Monday, July 15, if SSNIT proceeds with the sale to Rock City Hotel.
Addressed to SSNIT’s Director-General Kofi Osafo-Maafo, Rock City’s letter expressed disappointment over the lack of stakeholder engagement, which they believe contributed to the negative perception surrounding their bid.
The hotels involved are La Palm Beach Hotel, Labadi Beach Hotel, Royal Ridge Hotel, and Elmina Beach Hotel.
