Ari’s guitar playing is amazing – it’s like he’s telling a story with his instrument. He’s very expressive and can make his guitar sound sad, happy, or anything in between.
Joe Russo, the drummer, is like the heartbeat of the song. He keeps the rhythm going and makes the song feel alive. He’s very good at knowing when to play softly and when to play loudly.
Marco Benevento, the keyboard player, adds a unique flavor to the song. He’s like a spice master, adding just the right amount of flavor to make the song interesting, evoking the exotic flavors of Moroccan cuisine.
“I was playing a lot around the city, Marco and Joe were two of my favorite players, we played several times in various configurations, and I would come to Tagine with my guitar, and later The Knitting Factory ready to create,” Joshua recounts of the track’s origins. “I knew they had something special, I was hoping to play with them more, but they were getting increasingly busier and busier. I just love to play with both Marco and Joe. I am so glad we got to do this recording.”
