On the occasion of the May Day Celebration, former President John Dramani Mahama has commended workers in Ghana for their dedicated service to the country. He acknowledged that it is their steadfastness and commitment to the nation that has kept it afloat amid the current economic difficulties. In a Facebook post, Mahama saluted Ghanaian workers for inspiring the nation to be resolute and work towards building a better Ghana together. He expressed his belief that even in the current economic crisis, Ghanaian workers should have faith that things will improve in the future. Furthermore, he promised that a future NDC government would safeguard the investments of retirees, restore and revive collapsed businesses and banks, create genuine jobs, and ensure that statutory vehicles that protect the vulnerable in society are not deprived of funds. Mahama’s message to workers on this occasion is one of hope and encouragement in the face of the nation’s economic challenges.
