COMA BEACH’s latest EP, “Passion/Bliss,” is a thought-provoking and sonically intense release that displays the band’s unique blend of punk rock and alternative rock. Released on January 9, 2025, this EP is the third and final installment in the band’s “Scapegoat Revisited” EP triptych, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut album “The Scapegoat’s Agony.”

The EP’s two lead tracks, “Passion” and “Bliss,” are reworked versions of songs from the band’s debut album. “Passion” is a haunting exploration of the unnamed antihero’s emotional turmoil, while “Bliss” delves into the darker aspects of the human experience, plagued by apocalyptic visions.

COMA BEACH’s sound is influenced by a range of punk and alternative rock bands, from Sex Pistols to The Cure. The band’s lyrics draw on existentialist and philosophical themes, referencing authors such as Samuel Beckett, Douglas Adams, and Arthur Schopenhauer.

The EP features five tracks, including radio edits of “Astray (Fallen Angel)” and “The Final Door.” Standout tracks include the reworked versions of “Passion” and “Bliss,” which demonstrate the band’s ability to craft haunting and thought-provoking songs.
