Baltimore just birthed a game-changer. With her debut single “어디야 (Where You At?)” dropped on August 26, 2025, ah-Na (aka Anna Kim) is already bending the rules of what K-pop can be. Raised in Ellicott City, she’s repping the DMV with a sound that throws back to early 2000s Korean hip hop, think Drunken Tiger, Dynamic Duo, Epik High, and Leessang—but filters it through futuristic production that only a hybrid AI-meets-human artist could pull off.

Written and produced by JP Lin and creative producer Doe Kim, and recorded at South Port Studios, the track hits like a lost mixtape from Seoul’s golden era, booming drums, vinyl-warm bass, and that nostalgic boom-bap grit—but polished with razor-sharp modern edges. ah-Na rides the beat with slick bilingual verses and a hook that glides from confident to vulnerable in one breath.

What makes this exciting is how intentional the whole project feels. With Joseph Plocharczyk (VP Global Talent at Warner Brothers Discovery) quietly steering the studio’s mission to fuse old-school musicianship with AI tools, “어디야” becomes more than just a debut, it’s a manifesto. It says Baltimore’s Korean-American scene has something new to offer the global K-pop conversation, and ah-Na is ready to lead the charge.
