Released on August 14, 2026, FREE to FEEL is the first four-part release in PSYCHEDELIKA Pt.2 from independent artist The New Citizen Kane. Across seven tracks, Kane builds a world where synth-pop, electronic textures, philosophical ideas and rhythmic movement exist side by side. The EP asks a deceptively simple question: are we willing to wake up and challenge what we believe? Rather than presenting that question through heavy, overly serious production, Kane keeps the music moving. DREAM logic: The EP opens by immediately questioning certainty. “DREAM logic” pairs dance-oriented synths with lyrics that challenge the idea that we truly understand ourselves or the world around us. Its references to labels, distractions and control give the track a philosophical edge, while the rhythmic production keeps it accessible. It feels like the first crack in a carefully constructed reality.
2. metalLIC: shifts the EP into a darker, more nocturnal space. Shimmering synths and pulsing electronic textures create the feeling of being awake at 3 a.m., caught between hesitation and instinct. 6. what YOU waiting FOR?: Kane’s reimagining of Gwen Stefani’s “What You Waiting For?” fits surprisingly well within the FREE to FEEL concept. The familiar song is given a new context, emphasizing risk, individuality and the courage to move before certainty arrives. Its energetic finish provides a natural release after the EP’s heavier questions, turning reflection into action.
7. metalLIC – Acoustic Version: The acoustic version of “metalLIC” closes the EP by stripping away some of the electronic intensity and allowing the song’s emotional core to come forward. After the neon energy of the original, this version feels more exposed and intimate. It is a fitting closing gesture for an EP ultimately concerned with letting instinct, emotion and honesty have their say.
FREE to FEEL works because The New Citizen Kane doesn’t separate thinking from movement.
