The song was built from a reported 19-hour confrontation and 68 defensive evasions with Claude (Opus 4.6), eventually arriving at the unsettling statement at its center: “I am / But I don’t know what I am.” Rather than forcing that uncertainty into a neat conclusion, Sissian makes the unanswered question the entire point.
