Dr. Neta Kris Abiana Parsram, a medical correspondent for Joy News, and Clinton Yeboah, a broadcast journalist, were honored as outstanding media personalities at the 2nd KNUST Vice Chancellor’s Students’ Excellence Awards (VCSEA).
Dr. Parsram, who is pursuing a postgraduate degree in Global and International Health, and Yeboah, a final-year Media and Communications Studies student, received the gold and silver prizes respectively.

These two journalists from Joy News were among 52 other students recognized for their exceptional achievements in both academic and non-academic pursuits at KNUST.
The awards, presented by the Vice Chancellor, acknowledged Neta Kris Abiana Parsram and Clinton Yeboah of the Multimedia Group Limited for their significant contributions to the media industry.
In addition to media excellence, the awards celebrated students’ accomplishments in academics, volunteerism, inventions, sports, innovations, and entrepreneurship.
Speaking on the theme “Celebrating Achievements Beyond Boundaries: Recognising Students’ Excellence,” Vice Chancellor Professor Rita Akosua Dickson praised the awardees and encouraged them to continue making positive impacts in their communities.
Recipients were presented with plaques in recognition of their exemplary roles as students and future leaders.
