“AggenAnonAggen Pt.2” marks a tender, introspective turn for the Neil C. Young Trio. Departing from their usual electric fusion sound, the trio embraces a gentle acoustic approach rooted in melody, spiritual reflection, and subtle dynamics. Led by Neil C. Young’s expressive acoustic guitar, the track unfolds in a slow triple time rhythm, accompanied by Dave Murray’s soft bass lines and Miguel Boleta’s understated percussion.

The piece is elevated by ethereal vocal humming from Katie Smethurst, which adds warmth without overshadowing the meditative tone. Inspired by spiritual and hymnal music, and loosely born from a sync brief, the track feels deeply personal, offering listeners a moment of quiet reflection.

Recorded remotely across multiple cities in the North West UK, the track captures a cohesive intimacy despite the distance. “AggenAnonAggen Pt.2” is the first of a three-track EP exploring different versions of the same composition, with a vinyl release coming this autumn. Thoughtful, sincere, and beautifully restrained, this release shows the trio’s artistic depth and versatility.
