A three-storey building in Nmai Dzorn, near Ashaley Botwe in the Greater Accra Region, collapsed, resulting in the death of one person. Rescue operations located the body of the deceased on May 5, a day after the disaster occurred. It is uncertain what caused the building to collapse, but witnesses claimed that workers were present in the building when it happened. One person who escaped from the rubble was rushed to the hospital.

The Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service, and Adentan Municipal Assembly were involved in the rescue operation. The deceased, a 40-year-old man, left behind a wife and two children. His family was present at the scene when his body was recovered. National Disaster Management Organisation officials have cordoned off the area.
