In a tragic flood resulting from heavy rainfall on Friday night, a National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) officer lost his life.
The victim, named Sulemana Ahmed, was swept away along with his motorcycle in Duase, a location within the Kumasi Metropolis, while he was returning home from work.
Following an extensive search, residents of the area discovered his body in a drainage system on Saturday morning.

Sulemana Ahmed, aged in his 40s, not only served as an officer with NADMO but also held the position of former Organizer of the National Democratic Congress in the Old Tafo Constituency.
This unfortunate incident marks the fifth death resulting from the continuous heavy rains experienced throughout the week.
Prince Osei, the Assembly Member for the Duase Electoral Area, informed us that numerous residents noticed the body in the drainage system and immediately reported the incident to the police. With their assistance, the body was successfully retrieved from the drain.
The police have taken custody of the deceased and transported the body to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
