Piesie Esther, a gospel singer who was nominated for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, lost the award to Black Sherif. Despite not winning the award, Piesie Esther said she is not disappointed as all eight artists nominated for the category deserved to win because they all worked hard.
“I won’t lie Black Sherif and all the other artistes who made there worked harder and it could have gone for any of us. Although the competition was tough between me and Black Sherif he won and I want to congratulate him on winning the ultimate” she told Graphic Showbiz.

She congratulated Black Sherif for winning the ultimate award and acknowledged that the competition was tough between them. Piesie Esther won two other awards, Best Gospel Song and Best Gospel Artiste, which she expressed gratitude for as they were her first wins in her 20-year music career.
“I have been doing music for the past 20 years and I have not had any of these awards so winning big today is an incredible thing for me and I am so excited. I am grateful. I want to thank everyone who voted for me” she said.
The awards ceremony was held at the Accra International Conference Centre and was organized by Charterhouse.
