Residents of Takoradi and the surrounding areas in the Western Region are gripped by fear in the wake of disturbing reports about the desecration of graves in the locality.
The reports suggest that numerous graves have been vandalized and robbed at the cemetery, which shares a boundary with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Depot. Adom News’ Lord Tawiah has conveyed that in addition to the destruction, certain body parts are also missing, fueling concerns that this gruesome act may be motivated by ritualistic purposes.

An Environmental Analyst at the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Abdul Karim Hudu, has verified the occurrence of the incident. Mr. Hudu mentioned that he and his team visited the cemetery, where they identified more than 30 graves that had been tampered with, yet the culprits remain unknown. He further stated that the Assembly is taking proactive measures to prevent the perpetrators from inflicting further harm at the cemetery.
“The place is bushy so we will weed and deploy security to man the place and ward of the miscreants. Anybody who will be caught will face the full rigorous of the law,” he warned.
