BYRDZONG follow up their debut album with a single that’s pure summer-sun energy, even if the calendar says otherwise. “Ganja’s Got To Go” rides a reggae-pop groove that tips its hat to UB40 and Big Mountain but sounds like it was made for backyard barbecues, beach parties, and silly sing-alongs at 2 a.m.

From the first drum fill you know this is live-band business, warm acoustic drums, a bouncy electric guitar, and splashy keys that keep the mood light and the hips moving. The production leans easy and bright: nothing overproduced, just a tight pocket where melody and rhythm hang out and trade jokes.
Lyrically the track is cheeky and playful. Lines like “ain’t got the ganja / mama said ma” and the recurring pasta-invite motif make the song feel like a family dinner with the volume turned up. There’s an intentional silliness to it, the Goodwin duo (Mark & Tom) don’t take themselves too seriously, and that’s the point. The cockatiel-approved energy from their Mixed Dozen era shows up here: genre-blending, slightly weird, and wholly charming.

Vocal delivery is relaxed and friendly; this is sing-along territory. The chorus is simple by design, so crowds pick it up fast. That’s exactly where the song shines: festival-side stage, local radio chill hour, or a playlist called “Sunset Reggae & Chill.” If you want people to smile and move, this is it.
