Joshua Amankwaa, a driver, has been sentenced to 12 months of imprisonment with hard labor by the Kasoa District Court following a verdict.
This judgment was a result of an incident where the driver used curses on police officers by invoking the power of three rivers, after a disagreement.
The details presented in the charge sheet during the trial revealed that the situation unfolded when law enforcement officials halted Mr. Amankwaa and conducted a search of his belongings, which included a bag.

Feeling frustrated and questioning the officers’ conduct, the driver expressed his dissatisfaction with how his belongings were handled and raised concerns about being the only individual searched among a group of five.
Following the confrontation, the driver resorted to placing curses on the officers, utilizing the influence of three river deities.
After a thorough investigation and the presentation of evidence in court, the judge ruled that the driver’s behavior was inappropriate and against the law.
He pleaded guilty and was subsequently sentenced to 12 months in prison with the requirement of performing hard labor.
