EC postpones District Level Elections in some electoral areas

The Electoral Commission (EC) has postponed the District Assembly Elections in certain electoral areas within the Ashanti and Eastern Regions. Initially scheduled for today, December 19, 2023, across 6,215 electoral areas spanning 216 metropolitan, municipal, and district assemblies, the election has been rescheduled to Thursday, December 21, 2023.

This decision comes as a result of technical challenges, as stated in a release signed by the acting Head of Public Affairs, Michael Boadu. Notably, the statement did not provide details regarding the specific names or number of electoral areas affected by the rescheduling.
