Seth Yormewu, the District Chief Executive for Anloga in the Volta Region, has requested the Ghana Water Company Limited to make its sachet and bottled water products accessible in the market. He emphasized that the water produced by the company is of superior quality, but its absence from the market has left many citizens unaware and unable to purchase it.
Mr. Yormewu made this appeal during the presentation of relief items by the company to individuals affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage in the district. The Volta Regional Directorate, in collaboration with the Head Office, donated 1,000 bags of sachet water and 50 packs of bottled water to the victims. The water provided, produced by a subsidiary called G-WATER, met high-quality standards.

The DCE also urged the company to establish an office in Anloga, citing the area’s 28 electoral areas and emphasizing that such an establishment would enhance efficient service delivery to the community. Mr. Francis Lamptey, Volta Regional Chief Manager of the GWCL, stated to the Ghana News Agency that the company would consider the appeal for an office in the area. He explained that the creation of a district office usually requires a minimum of about 5,000 customers, but if the number is below, around 1,000 to 2,000, they consider a sub-district. The decision, he mentioned, would be based on the available data to determine if the area meets the necessary criteria for an office.
