Rock powerhouse Lzzy Hale might be looking to take over for Chester Bennington as rumors of a Linkin Park reunion continue to heat up
Within Linkin Park rumored to be on the look out for a new female frontwoman, Lzzy Hale appears to have put in an application.
Or she’s at least sending the band some love. The star, who is lead vocals for rock band Halestorm, posted a cover of the band’s classic song, Crawling, on Instagram as rumors that a reunion is on the horizon.
The loss of lead singer Chester Bennington to suicide led Linkin Park to hit pause on their musical journey, creating a significant void. However, intrigue spiked when the band showcased a mysterious countdown online, set to expire on Wednesday. If the band does reunite, they’ll be tasked with finding a replacement for a late Chester and it might just be a woman stepping into the role.
The whispers of a reunion were sparked by comments from Orgy’s Jay Gordon (who later retracted his words) in an interview with Wired In The Empire, where he mentioned Linkin Park was “still going for it” despite the loss of Chester Bennington. Gordon hinted: “It’s going to be tough without Chester, but we’ll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard.”
A source confirmed the news to Billboard as they indicated that the band’s booking agency was looking into potential gigs for the group. While the rumblings about a female singer are intensifying, news on who might have landed the role isn’t yet confirmed.
Fans are thrilled by the thought of Lzzy taking the stage alongside Linkin Park. “Lzzy is there anything you’d like to tell us…..???” asked one fan in the comment section. Another wrote: “No way. This would be so legendary.”

A third fan speculated: “Timing on this… maybe the LP announcement is an album with guest artists covering Chester’s parts. I hope I’m right. This is so beautiful
In an anticlimactic twist, upon reaching zero, the timer started counting up again, casting fans into a state of bewildered disappointment. Fans will need to wait a bit longer to find out what’s in store, including if Lzzy might be taking on this new challenge with the band.
Another woman’s name was circulating as a prospective singer. Amy Lee of Evanescence dismissed rumors regarding her involvement during a chat with iHeartRadio Canada, though she did express an openness to the idea, saying: “But that’s awesome. They should ask me about that. I don’t have a ton of free time, but I might do it part-time.”
