With “Ivory Towers,” J’mall is unveiling a whole new mindset. This third track from his upcoming sophomore album More That Meets The Eye (dropping November 7, 2025) continues the thoughtful streak that began with “Peripheral” and “More For Me.” If his 2023 LP G.R.I.T.S (The Gift Resides Internally Therefore Shine) was about self-realization, “Ivory Towers” feels like the next chapter, a declaration of clarity, growth, and peace after the chaos.

The track opens introspective and scriptural  “When I was a child, I spoke as a child…”  setting the tone for a record that’s all about spiritual maturity and perspective. From there, J’mall takes us on a cinematic ride down a metaphorical runway, top down, wind in his face, letting go of what once weighed him down. His flow is sharp but calm, mixing poetic insight with streetwise grounding “Destruction always follow major pride / Shame it’s the first time, but can’t blame them twice.” It’s the voice of someone who’s looked life dead in the eye and decided to level up anyway.

Production-wise, “Ivory Towers” fuses conscious rap and ambient hip-hop energy. The beat glides with a low-end hum that mirrors the smooth motion of his verses. There’s a meditative rhythm here J’mall’s delivery dances between reflection and resolve, creating space for listeners to think, nod, and maybe even heal a little. The repetition of “I’m I, I’m I, I’m I” toward the end feels like a mantra, an affirmation of identity, survival, and self-trust.

At its core, “Ivory Towers” is about rising above trauma and finding clarity in motion. J’mall doesn’t escape his pain; he transforms it into perspective. It’s the kind of track that lingers, not because it’s loud, but because it’s honest. If More That Meets The Eye carries this same spirit, it’s set to be one of the most introspective and inspiring hip-hop releases of the year.
