The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has instructed all its members to commence a strike starting Monday, July 15.
Organised Labour has declared an indefinite strike following the National Pensions Regulatory Authority’s (NPRA) approval, allowing the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to proceed with a contentious plan to sell a 60% stake in four hotels to Bryan Acheampong’s Rock City Hotel.
Dr. Yaw Baah, Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), expressed confusion over the NPRA’s decision to permit SSNIT to advance with the deal without further consultation, especially after initially ordering SSNIT to halt the procedure.

Minister for Employment, Labour Relations and Pensions, Ignatius Baffuor Awuah, informed Parliament that the NPRA has given SSNIT the green light to move forward with the controversial sale of the four hotels to Bryan Acheampong’s Rock City Hotel.
During a meeting at the Trades Union Congress on July 12, Organised Labour leadership reaffirmed their stance that the proposed sale of SSNIT’s shares is not in the best interest of Ghanaian workers.
In a press release signed by National President Samuel Afotey Otu, the Association demanded an immediate termination of the process.
As an accredited member of Organised Labour, JUSAG is required to adhere to the resolution.
