Released on May 23, 2025, “Never Believers” by Joe Osgood & The Fathers of Light has quickly risen as one of the standout indie releases of the year. Recorded at Eastcote Studios in West London, on the same desk where Bob Marley’s Exodus was born, the track captures a mix of heritage and immediacy. Cut live in only a few takes, the recording feels organic, full of atmosphere without losing precision.
The band draws inspiration from The War On Drugs, The Verve, and Future Islands, blending widescreen indie-rock with electronic and global flourishes. Frontman Joseph Dean-Osgood delivers vocals that balance grit with sincerity, while guitarist Graham Prior’s textured tones and drummer Mantu’s rhythmic drive expand the sound into something cinematic.

Lyrics-wise, refrains like “I found a long-lost love on a desert freeway, I just stopped by, I can take it or leave it” ground the song in imagery that’s both hypnotic and emotionally charged. By the sprawling outro, “Never Believers” feels less like a single and more like a journey.
With momentum building, Joe Osgood & The Fathers of Light are proving themselves a band to believe in.
