The National Service Scheme (NSS) management has announced that it has obtained government approval for an increase in the monthly allowances provided to national service personnel. The allowances will be adjusted upwards from GH¢599.04 to GH¢715.57.
The approval and increment were the outcomes of several discussions between the National Service Scheme, Fair Wages, and Salary Commission, as well as the Ministry of Finance. This was stated in a release dated July 18, 2023, signed by the Deputy Minister for Finance, Abena Osei Opare.

Additionally, the release instructed the Controller and Accountant-General to implement the new allowance levels for the personnel.
