The former Chairperson of the People’s Convention Party (PNC), Bernard Mornah, has provided details about a late-night phone conversation he had with Inspector General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare, following his unsuccessful attempt to secure bail for the #OccupyJulorBiHouse protesters.
According to Mornah, while he was on his way home, the IGP contacted him to express his dissatisfaction with the violence that had erupted during the protest. After this call from the IGP, Mornah hastily put on his shirt and immediately headed to the police station to work on securing the release of the detained individuals. He also revealed that the IGP had arranged a meeting with the protesters at the Police Headquarters for the following Friday to gain a better understanding of the nature of the issue at hand.
