A shooting incident in Bawku, Upper East region, has resulted in one confirmed fatality and injuries to five others. According to police sources, the incident occurred around 12:30 pm on Wednesday near the Bawku Police Station in the Zongo area. The deceased, identified as 60-year-old Musah Seidu, succumbed to a severe chest injury from gunshot wounds, as disclosed by the medical officer at the Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Tagbor Jackson.

The injured individuals are Firdaus Abdulai (17), Sumaila Munira (38), Amidu Bugri (40), Bukari Seidu (50), and Kamal Sadat (19). Firdaus and Munira are receiving treatment at the Vineyard Hospital, while the other three are admitted to the Presbyterian Hospital. The incident’s cause remains unclear. Musah has been released to the family and laid to rest in accordance with Islamic traditions.
