Around 500 students from Kumasi Technical Institute in the Ashanti Region have received indefinite suspensions due to a range of misconduct and violations of school policies. This action was taken in response to significant damage caused to school property during a rampage.
As reported by Citinews on May 17, a group of students residing in the boarding house allegedly engaged in destructive behavior, resulting in the damage to school property. The article does not provide further details about the incident, but school officials have emphasized that the suspensions were implemented to uphold discipline within the school. A comprehensive report outlining the inappropriate conduct of the students has been forwarded to the Technical and Vocational Education Training Directorate.

According to the report, the students in question failed to attend a general assembly parade on Friday, leading the authorities to conduct a roll call. Consequently, the students were instructed to vacate the dormitories and present themselves to the school’s disciplinary committee upon receiving a summons.
The officials plan to arrange a meeting with the families of the affected students to clarify the events that transpired. Additionally, following the incident, the Police Commander of the Manhvia Divisional Command visited the school and addressed the remaining students, urging them to abide by the rules and regulations.
