Seven individuals accused of assaulting a man they believed to have used spiritual means to shrink another man’s manhood have been detained by a District court in Awutu Breku, Central Region.
The victim, Ike Faith, initially sought medical attention at Senya Polyclinic but was subsequently referred to Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba due to the severity of his injuries.
During their court appearance, the pleas of the seven accused individuals were not recorded.

The individuals facing charges are Prosper Bonney, a 22-year-old Pragia Rider, Blessings Bonney, Emmanuel Baffoe, Kwame Arhinsan, Richard Quanssah, Gideon Amissah, and Emmanuel Otoo.
Prosper Bonney is specifically charged with spreading false news and deceiving public officers.
Furthermore, Prosper and his six accomplices are collectively charged with causing unlawful harm, assault, and conspiracy to commit a crime related to causing harm.
The prosecution, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Thomas Sarfo and Chief Inspector Bernice Wie Kpuusuu, opposed bail, citing ongoing investigations.
Victor Yankson, representing Prosper and Blessings, requested bail for his clients.
The case was adjourned by Judge Naomi A. A. Kuntuor to April 26 for the accused individuals to enter their pleas.
According to the prosecution, the complainant is a National Service Personnel serving as a teacher at Senya Beraku “C’ Basic School.

The prosecution stated that on April 9, 2024, around 10:00 pm, the complainant reported an incident where a group of individuals, including Prosper Bonney, allegedly assaulted Ike Faith, accusing him of using spiritual means to shrink Prosper Bonney’s penis.
Earlier that day, around 8:00 pm, Ike Faith and Prosper Bonney had a conversation about Pragia business after Ike boarded Prosper’s Pragia. Later, Prosper alleged that his penis started shrinking after dropping off Ike at his house.
Prosper sought intervention from Blessing Bonney, who claimed to have used anointing oil and prayers to restore Prosper’s penis.
Following the incident, Ike Faith was taken to Senya Polyclinic and then transferred to Trauma and Specialists Hospital in Winneba for further treatment.
Through police investigations, the remaining accused individuals were apprehended.
