If you’ve ever wondered what it’d sound like if Bigfoot stomped out of the woods in steel-toe boots and said “run the track,” PRIAPISM’s “Theme For A Bigfoot” is basically that moment in audio form. This thing hits with a wild, thunderous energy, old-school heavy metal bones, but dressed in full-on cosmic horror cosplay.

Straight out of Newcastle upon Tyne, Priapism have been cooking up their sound since 2024, and you can tell. Everything here feels tight, deliberate, and theatrically unhinged in the best way. The drums slam like they’re trying to wake something ancient. The riffs are huge, gnarly, and low-key dangerous. The bass doesn’t just sit in the pocket, it hypnotizes you. And the embedded vocals? Super catchy, almost chant-like, slipping in and out of the mix like you’re hearing voices from the deep woods. Or the deep void. Same vibe.

One thing that really sticks out is the band’s whole Lovecraft-coded universe. Their lyric style leans into dark humor, occult imagery, and a “we laugh because everything is doomed” attitude. They’re not pretending; this is their full aesthetic. It bleeds through the production, the storytelling, the attitude, everything.

“Theme For A Bigfoot” feels like a trailer for the chaotic empire they’re building. It’s groovy, menacing, and weirdly fun. A track that could soundtrack a chase scene between an elder god and a hairy forest cryptid, and you’d still be headbanging through it.
Priapism have clearly put their 2024 grind to work, sound design, visuals, stagecraft, all sharpened like ritual knives. Now they’re stepping into 2025 with confidence, chaos, and a cult waiting to be formed.
