Tyrone Marhguy, the young Rastafarian whose admission to Achimota School was initially questioned due to his dreadlocks, has garnered recognition by winning two awards at the American Mathematics Olympiad 2023 for his remarkable achievements in grade 12.
Marhguy achieved the prestigious title of the 2023 overall national top scorer, earning the Gold medal after competing against over 150,000 students worldwide. In addition, he was honored with the Silver award in the Vanda Science International Olympiad, surpassing 38,000 test-takers.
