
Monday’s session of the Public Accounts Committee faced turmoil when what initially seemed like a straightforward inquiry became a point of contention.
During the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA)’s segment of the meeting, Sam George, the legislator representing Ningo-Prampram, sought clarification on the year when the Commissioner-General of the Authority, Rev Dr Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, turned 60.

However, another committee member interjected, expressing reservations: “Isn’t that a personal matter? I believe it’s personal.”
This exchange led to an unexpected ten-minute confusion regarding a birth year.
Deputy Finance Minister, Abena Osei-Asare, contended that the question regarding age was of a personal nature.
