The headmistress of O’Reilly Senior High School (SHS), Nadia Lartechoe Annan, has been instructed to temporarily step aside pending an investigation into the unauthorized collection of money during the admission process. This directive, conveyed in a letter dated December 6, 2023, cites a violation of the school’s Code of Conduct.

The letter, signed by Mr. Stephen Abamfo, Acting Director of Education for the Greater Accra Region, expresses concern about the unauthorized collection of funds at O’Reilly Senior High School during the admission process. In accordance with the Code of Conduct, Ms. Annan has been directed to step aside to allow for an investigation to take place.
During her absence, Ms. Annan is required to hand over all school property to the Municipal Director of Education, Ledzokuku, who will assume oversight responsibilities. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has been actively addressing cases of unauthorized fees and collections within the education sector.

This recent development at O’Reilly Senior High School is part of the ongoing efforts by the GES to ensure compliance with established guidelines and regulations in the admission process of SHS. In a similar vein, the Headmistress of Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS) in Koforidua, Patience Naki Mensah, has also been interdicted by the Ghana Education Service (GES) on allegations of selling unauthorized items to Form One students.
