Prosper Narteh Ogum has successfully undergone surgery following a brief illness, Asante Kotoko announced on Wednesday.
The club did not disclose the specific illness that necessitated the surgery but confirmed that the procedure went well. Ogum is now focused on regaining full fitness ahead of the next season.

Ogum, who is also part of the club’s Interim Management Committee, is leading the restructuring of the playing squad. Following the conclusion of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, the club has released 19 players, including goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad and striker Steven Mukwala.
“We need to implement several structural changes in the playing body with regard to signing players to strengthen the squad. This time, we are targeting players who have experience in the Premier League, not just those from lower divisions,” the 46-year-old said in a recent interview with the club’s media.
“We need to act swiftly to ensure we secure the players we want as quickly as possible” he added.
Kotoko finished last season without a trophy, placing sixth in the Ghana Premier League.
Prosper Narteh Ogum is expected to recover in time to lead the team for their upcoming Democracy Cup game against Hearts of Oak next month.
