The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, commended Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum for the extensive reforms implemented in the nation’s education sector. These reforms, spanning Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), the expansion of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, the professionalization of teachers, and initiatives to modernize education infrastructure to meet international standards, were highlighted by the clergyman.
This observation was made during a meeting with the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs in Kumasi, where Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum led a delegation.

The purpose of the visit, at the House of Chiefs’ request, allowed the Minister to outline ongoing education reforms, especially in the Ashanti region. Otumfuo Osei Tutu expressed optimism that these reforms, if continued, could significantly transform the nation’s development.
He urged traditional leaders to actively engage in the development of education by overseeing projects and providing necessary support to education stakeholders in their areas.

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum expressed gratitude to Otumfuo Osei Tutu for his interest in education development in the Ashanti region and the nation overall. He also commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his substantial budgetary allocations to the education sector, aiming to bring about transformation.
Addressing a question, Dr. Adutwum affirmed the significance of the Teacher Licensure introduced during former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s era, emphasizing its role in regulating teachers as professionals.
He announced ongoing efforts to enhance school infrastructure nationwide, creating conducive learning environments. Dr. Adutwum also discussed the implementation of serialization as a solution to curb examination malpractice, receiving intermittent applause from the traditional leaders during the hour-long presentation for his vision and understanding of the education sector.
