The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has made an announcement stating that the problems associated with birth and death registration have been resolved.

He stated that the issue of fake names and birth certificates has been effectively tackled through the implementation of digital systems.

“We have fixed the problem of fake names, birth certificates, bureaucracy, and corruption at the birth and deaths registry so what we have done is to digitalize the processes at the births and deaths and link their systems with the Ghana Health Service and the NIA for the Ghana card to be issued, “ the Vice President stated during an address at the NPP International Women’s Conference in the United Kingdom.

However, he also mentioned that starting from the following month, all newborn babies will receive a Ghana card.
