Disdarken’s latest single, “Keep The Dark Inside,” is a haunting journey through emotional turmoil and introspection. Rooted in a vivid dream experienced by Nick Carmine’ where he sees himself as a school shooter, this track confronts themes of identity, depression, and suppressed pain with raw honesty.

Built on atmospheric synths and LoFi textures, the track creates a chilling yet immersive soundscape. The refrain “I keep the dark inside” echoes like a confession, while verses delve deep into personal struggles with love, self-image, and mental health. Each lyric feels torn from a diary, with lines like “I’ll swim through lake of fire forever with you” balancing despair with longing.
This is Disdarken’s fifth single and the title track of their upcoming debut album, a loose concept record exploring depression, autism, addiction, and recovery. It shows their growth as storytellers and sonic architects, blending darkwave aesthetics with emotional depth.
