Rapper Drake has earned $2.7 million when Israel Adesanya knocked out Alex Pereira to recover the middleweight belt at UFC 287 this morning.
The 185lb championship was reclaimed by the Nigerian-born New Zealander just five months after it was lost to his arch rival Pereira, who had previously beaten him twice in kickboxing.
Drake lost $1.6 million after betting on Adesanya to win that bout, but he made up for it in the rapper’s rematch with Pereira.
According to the Mirror UK, the Canadian put $500,000 on Adesanya to win, which paid out $885,000, and another $400,000 on him to win via knockout, which paid out $1.8 million.

After his battle, Stylebender was asked about Drake’s wager, and he said, “Shoutout to everyone who bet on me, but you have to understand that when I go into the octagon, I put my life on the line.”
It is the largest parlay possible. I’m a gambler as well, so kudos to stake, we’re ready to close another transaction and receive more money.”
Adesanya’s victory against Pereira is his 24th in mixed martial arts (MMA), and he has only two defeats in his career.
